77% LOWER RADIATION DOSE
Planmeca Ultra Low Dose™ technology can significantly reduce the radiation dose of CBCT imaging. Studies have demonstrated an average dose reduction of 77% compared with standard CBCT protocols, without a statistically significant reduction in image quality.
Treatment cost
Please note that a CBCT scan does not include a dental consultation, and the fee does not include professional diagnostic interpretation of the images.

A short examination, with guidance throughout
Call us to arrange a time. If your dentist requested the scan, mention this when booking and bring the request and any previous relevant images.
Preparation
We review the purpose of the examination and help you remove objects that could interfere with the image, such as earrings or removable dentures.
The scan
We position you in the open scanner and explain how to remain still. The examination is painless, involves no injection and usually takes about 5 minutes including positioning.
Images and next steps
We explain how you can access your digital images. Your dentist interprets the findings in the context of your examination and discusses any treatment needed.
When a two-dimensional X-ray leaves questions open
CBCT is not a routine screening test for everyone. Your dentist decides whether a 3D scan is justified by your symptoms, clinical examination and existing images.
Implant planning
Assessing bone dimensions and the position of nearby anatomical structures helps your dentist plan implant placement.
Wisdom teeth
In selected cases, 3D imaging clarifies the relationship between the tooth roots, nerve canal and adjacent teeth.
Complex root canal cases
A targeted scan may help assess persistent symptoms and changes around the roots when conventional images are insufficient.
Suspected dental infection
When clinically justified, CBCT can complement the dental examination. A scan alone does not establish whether a tooth is causing symptoms elsewhere.
Good to know before your appointment
No. It is painless and involves no injection or dental treatment. You need to remain still briefly to help obtain a clear image.
CBCT must be clinically justified. If your dentist requested the scan, bring the request and discuss the details with us by phone before your appointment.
The examination usually takes about 5 minutes including positioning. Administration and image processing may take additional time. We will agree the expected image handover time when booking.
Yes. We explain how to access and open your images. Clinical interpretation is a separate task: your dentist should assess the scan together with your symptoms and examination findings.
The quoted price is the CBCT examination fee. Please confirm the scope and price of any separate consultation, written report or additional examination when booking.
Always tell us before the examination if you are pregnant or may be pregnant. Your dentist decides individually whether and when imaging is needed. Do not arrange a CT on your own initiative.
The first step
During a personal meeting, we will design every detail of your treatment in partnership with you.
