A temporary filling seals the tooth until your next appointment, helping to prevent food and saliva from entering it. You may also have a temporary filling even after the root canal filling has been completed, while you are waiting for the definitive filling or a crown .
Whenever possible, chew on the opposite side and avoid hard or sticky foods. Continue brushing your teeth as usual, but be gentle around the treated tooth.
If you notice that a larger piece of the filling has come out, a hole has developed, or the filling feels loose, please call our clinic . It is worth having the tooth checked even if it does not hurt at all.
Please attend your next appointment even if you have no symptoms. If you need to postpone it, contact us to arrange a new appointment and to discuss whether the temporary filling should be checked or replaced in the meantime.
